R360 Players Face 10-Season Suspension from National Rugby League

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck won 20 international appearances for the Kiwis before changing representation to Samoa.

The NRL's governing body has stated that participants who sign with the “counterfeit” R360 competition will be prohibited for a decade.

The proposed competition, which plans to launch in late 2026, is hoping to draw rugby union and rugby league players with substantial agreements and a slimmed-down game calendar.

Leading NRL players have reportedly received offers by the new league, which will involve six to eight men's sides and women's teams based in major cities globally.

The Samoan the player, who is with New Zealand Warriors in the competition, has said he has had negotiations involving the new organization.

Papenhuyzen, Lomax, Haas and Gray are also believed to be considering joining the new competition.

Several leading rugby union nations, among them Australia, recently announced a prohibition on R360 recruits playing global fixtures.

“We heard our clubs and we've taken firm action,” stated ARLC chairman the official.

“Sadly, there will always be entities that attempt to hijack our sport for monetary profit.

“They don't invest in development systems or the development of players. They merely capitalize on the efforts of existing bodies, endangering athletes of economic hardship while profiting themselves.

“In truth, they represent, copying the game.”

R360 is established by former England World Cup winner Tindall and funded by independent financiers.

Subsequent to the potential union bans were declared last week, it said: “We aim to collaborate collaboratively as integrated into the international rugby schedule.

“The event is designed with tailored timetables for male and female sides and the organization will allow all athletes for global fixtures, as written into their deals.”

The new league will seek approval for its proposals from the international authority, rugby union's administrative organization, at its council meeting next year.
